Problem : Browsing candidates take time
Solution #1 Matched candidates
No need to browse candidates, just see the top matches.
Problem: Gathering all the info about
candidate takes time and effort.
Solution # 2 View Metrics and data
Skip the traditional way of gathering information about any candidate and use data to make a more informed decision.
Problem : Manually collaborting with the team
Solution #3 Effortless hiring flow
Easy way to collaborate with the team including hiring managers. This way companies can avoid the delay in hiring and
can provide the best candidate experience.

When I received the project I had 3 weeks to finish it. The team has been
working on the project from the last 9 months. The platform has two parts and
I was responsible for the second part which is HR's dashboard. The team provided
me all the necessary assets to begin my work such as user research ,
a design library and a half-finished mockup of the dashboard.

Kick-off meeting
As I prepared for my first kick-off meeting, I read the PRD and prepared questions for individual team members to uncover a few answers about the product, technology, UI designs, and constraints. After the meeting, I noted down
the project goals.
Goal # 1: List of candidates with their score.
Goal # 2: Candidate's detailed information.
Goal # 3: Including buttons such as resume, Github link, and message.
Goal # 4: An indicator showing which stage the candidate is currently at.

Track and manage the hiring flow through the dashboard
At this point, I had the user persona which helped me understand the characteristics, needs, and expectations of the users. But moving forward I felt that I need to uncover a few more things to gain a deeper understanding of their context. I reached out to a few recruiters in my network and conducted interviews to find answers in the following area.
Challenges faced during shortlisting candidates and managing hiring flow?
Use of any data and metric to evaluate skills and experience?
Any specific tool and software they use/ any feature or functionality they wish for.

Insight # 2 - GETTING A FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE CANDIDATE TO MAKE QUICK DECISION

vISUALIZE THE EXPERIENCE
Visualize the steps taken by users based on new user flow.
At this point I had a half-finished mockup and I was using that as my guide to sketch wireframes. But later, I noticed that the mockup was not based on the optimized user flow. So it was causing more confusion rather helping me. So I dropped the mockup and started sketching from scratch based on new user flow.

Steps to design Dashboard
Purpose
I was very clear about the purpose of the dashboard, that helped me to design the
accurate screens to achieve the main goal that is " managing hiring flow with less
effort
User
Knowing who is the user is another important aspect to design dashboard. In this project defining the accurate persona and their goals helped me craft a perfect UX flow for better user experience.
Visuals
Dashboards makes the most complicated tasks easy for users. As a designer, our job is to make it look very simple is the end goal. When I was searching for design ideas I came across a video
on designing the dashboard by famous book writer Refactoring UI
Evolving
No dashboard design is the final design. It is very important to understand while designing the dashboard we need to understand the we choose features based on needs than desires.
Design exploration
Researching how to design dashboards and exploring other products for design ideas.
Designing Dashboards
This is the first time I was designing the dashboard and the timeline was short.
So I started reading everything possible to make an understanding around how to design a dashboard? These are the things I noted down to design a successful dashboard.

Validate
Test the ideas and refine as per the need.
For design purposes, I used X2 analytics design library, supplemented by custom elements wherever needed.
I have tested the prototype with 2 of my work colleague ( from marketing department) and created small sessions.
In this, I created task and ask users to think aloud while performing the actions.
The tests were successful and users gave their feedback. Base on those feedbacks I further iterated the designs.

Dashboard design is different than designing normal screens
I realized that there are different types of dashboards and each has its own unique purpose. It took me a lot of time to understand what type of dashboard is this and then finally after reading a lot of theoretical reading I was finally figured out that this is a combination of analytical and operational dashboards.
Operational, analytical, and strategic: The three types of dashboards
Knowing the target audience is not enough.
Understanding the context in which end user is going to use the dashboard is more important. This helps design the exact screens and let me focus on micro interactions.
